Upswing in Online ‘Fashionista’ Shopping In Nigeria

Thursday 27 February 2014

Online shopping in Nigeria has quickly grown into a billion dollar e-commerce industry over the past few years.  It is estimated that over 50 million of approximately 110 million telephone subscribers in Nigeria are internet subscribers.  With the rise in online retailers and shoppers alike, e-commerce is expected to climb, especially as more businesses draw support from online retail platforms.

Many Nigerian shoppers have come to prefer and count on online stores to supply their needs.  Not only are they drawn to the convenience of online shopping, but the savings shoppers reap adds up to a healthy amount.  Shoppers can enjoy seasonal discounts and offers from online stores the same as they might get in a brick and mortar retail shop, but without having travel expenses, parking fees, and other expenses associated with walk-in retail shopping.  Additionally, many walk -in stores do not offer the deep discounts for new merchandise promotions as the online stores do.

As competition increases, online stores recognize what their customers are in the market for and strive to deliver at competitive prices.  High quality, affordable name brand apparel such as AlmariHybrid Fashion, and Lydia Bright, are in demand by fashionable dressed African women.  Shoes by Dune and fashion accessories and jewelry by Rinola or Mango also top the most trendy shoppers list.  Consequently, many online stores offer additional savings for customers who purchase several items at a time, or may offer discount shipping rates on larger orders.  Another major factor that keeps Nigerian shoppers returning to their favorite online stores is secure transaction methods like cash on delivery and good customer service with a personal touch.

It’s highly expected that e-commerce will continue to be a major contributing factor in Nigeria’s economic growth, and as job opportunities arise within this market, so should educational opportunities and training to ensure the sustainability of this industry.  As a participating online store, BeSaz Boutique is proud to play a role in Nigeria’s growth sector by supplying customers with the quality merchandise they desire.  Please view our online selection of stylish fashions and contact us for questions or to place your order.

The Collar Trend

Thursday 20 February 2014

Masculine tailoring is a huge trend at the moment, but can also be a difficult trend to wear. However, rocking this current trend in fashion is an easy way to add an edge to a feminine look. The statement white collar has been around for a while and is massive amongst celebrities, with Victoria Beckham regularly seen rocking this look. Like most trends they come back around, check out our selection of collar contrast dresses by Closet Clothing at BeSaz Boutique. The collar trend is likely to be pretty hot over the next coming months.

Many designers have featured the collar in their Spring/Summer ‘14 collections, pairing this trend with chic denim dresses and classic trouser suits. However, if you are still not feeling this trend inspired by the runway there are many street style fashionistas pulling off this look. Whether it is dresses or shirts, adding a simple white, coloured or patterned collar   creates that extra touch of drama.

So of course here at BeSaz Boutique we have a tribute to the trend. If you want to get involved in our collar crush then you should check out our latest additions, from Almari, Ad Lib and of course Closet Clothing

Jumpsuits Are Back With A Vengeance!

Monday 17 February 2014

In the late 60’s and 70’s Jumpsuits were all the rage!  The popularity and lure of this simple one-piece outfit was due to its ease of wear, and the unapologetic way designers encouraged us to speak our minds through flamboyant colors and unique designs.  The jumpsuit was a huge compliment to the fashion industry and a bold statement for women who dared to be different.

Whether you desired a style with sleeves or without, straight legs or wide legs, psychedelic print, floral print or no print at all...it didn't matter, because jumpsuits came in every conceivable pattern and style you could imagine.

During the late 80's and the early 90's, the rage for jumpsuits began to taper off.  This in turn led to a decline in the demand for jumpsuits, and as a result, they were historically tucked away inside the Fashion Vault.  By the time the 21st century began, jumpsuits had become a distant memory in our minds, and we had no idea when they'd ever return.

Well fast forward to today, the fashion gods have decided to open the Fashion Vault once again, and unleash one of its most treasured staples for us to enjoy...the beloved Jumpsuit!  Yes! Yes! Yes!  Jumpsuits are back with a vengeance, and they are demanding our attention!  Today we are seeing a progressively increasing trend of very uniquely styled jumpsuits, with extreme colors, asymmetric designs, and some of the most amazing fabrics known to man.

Because history (fashion) repeats itself, we can safely say that the jumpsuit has made and official comeback!  We can look forward to seeing more jumpsuits showing up in the office, at parties, on the runway and on the red carpet.  Jumpsuits have once more become very popular, and are one of the most fashionable pieces of clothing enjoyed by women everywhere, and have been seen on an array of celebrities including the Kardashian sisters, Victoria Beckham, Rihanna and Kristen Stewart.

Which Dresses Look Best on You?

Wednesday 5 February 2014

Everybody is built a little differently.  Some people are tall and wide, while others are short and narrow.  No matter what your shape is, you can look your best by finding dresses and accessories that flatter your figure and accentuate your favorite features at BeSaz Boutique.

Dresses for Hourglass Shapes
If you want to flatter your curvy figure, an A-line dress will accent your waist and make your legs appear longer.  Long, narrow skirts are also a good choice, as are flowing maxi-dresses that call more subtle attention to your curves.

Dresses for Narrow-Hipped Shapes
You will find that skater dresses flatter a shape that is wider on the top than on the bottom. It is easy to add volume to your hips by opting for a gathered skirt, or call attention to your slender legs with a long, narrow skirt in a darker color.

Dresses for Wide-Hip (Pear) Shapes
A-line skirts and dresses are a must-have for ladies who want to flatter their wide hips. Form-fitting skirts can also compliment your shape.  When shopping for dresses to flatter a pear shape, look for dresses with details on the top.  The details will help balance your gorgeous look.

No matter what shape your figure is, BeSaz Boutique has a dress in stock that will flatter you.  With a variety of designers, colors, and styles available at our storefront in Lagos or at our online shop, we are the place to find your next favorite item.  Please contact us to learn more about the fabulous fashions we have in store for you.

Ways To Wear The Lace Trend In Fashion

The romantic and lady like lace trend in fashion continues to hold strong this season for both evening and day wear.  Take a look at some stunning choices for your daily routine and special occasions, along with tips for looking fabulous in lace.

Lace has been appearing in a lot of bright colours lately, so this aqua number will make you look like a trendsetter. The pleated neck adds a graceful touch to this skater dress, while the nude patent skinny belt slims your waist. The highlight is the stunning sheer lace overskirt that will make you feel like you’re sun bathing on white sands.

For an evening party, change into this stunning A-line dress. The bright cobalt blue lace bodice transforms this little black dress into a show stopper. It is also as practical as it is gorgeous. There’s a convenient back zipper, and you can even machine wash it.

Wear your beautiful new dresses with traditional accessories like pearls and velvet sandals that continue the soft look. On the other hand, you can modernise the effect with a long metallic coat worn on top for evening or a rugged denim or leather jacket for day.

Use colourful touches to keep white lace from looking too bridal. We loved the white revealing lace dress by Michael Costello that we saw on Beyonce at the Grammy Awards 2014.

For brightly coloured lace, choose neutral coloured jewelry and shoes. If you love sheer lace but feel a little timid baring it all, select the right slip or look for dresses with a longer and more relaxed shape to even things out. With black lace, just revel in the glamour of it all.

Lace is no longer just for lingerie.  Show off your feminine side with one of our huge selection of dresses and other items for all your wardrobe needs. Contact us for good quality fashion without expensive price tags. We make the latest fashion trends available to everyone.
